THE NEW NEUTRALS - Nude, Flesh, Taupe, Ecru, Oatmeal, Latte, Tea, Biscuit, Desert sand, Eggshell...just don't call it Beige. From the Elle Collections Spring/Summer 2010 Magazine
You might be wondering why I posted some graphic pictures of painted naked women on my blog... and I thought that if I saw this I might be left wondering why as well.. so I'll tell you because I guess now is the beginning of working on my creative concept for my collection and I will be posting a lot of random visuals inspirations as I find them. In short (and I mean very short) my concept is based around looking at the 'natural' or 'real' female body and the way its visually represented in art to create a collection that works, not in trying to mould or distort the natural form but work with it... so there will be many more of these visual entries in which I'm putting out there images that I find interesting and inspiring
Jenny Saville, looking beyond what is thought of as beautiful and seeing the shapes and structure of a woman's body. She creates a fascination with the body and her paint work is AMAZING! = major inspiration
So, welcome to my blog. Where do I start? I'm about to embark on the HUGE challenge of creating my major collection for my final year of fashion design at UTS and as part of that, I'm going to be using this blog as an outlet for everything design and inspiration related that I come across in the journey that is 4th year and hopefully beyond. I will be posting on my own progress and designs, any inspirations that have influenced my work and pretty much the entire process from start to finish. So aside from hopefully providing others with inspiration, it will be an interesting look into the whole creative process of a student creating her first major collection!
Im currently in my 4th and FINAL year of fashion design at university and ready to be finished and get myself out there! Ive started this blog to show my work, what inspires me to design and everything else I love!
